Demand for FTB advice hits 23 month high - but why?

15 Feb 2012

First home buying advice hits a 23 month high - consumer demand or rush before end of stamp duty holiday?

Our latest figures reveal that enquiries for first time buyer advice reached a 23 month high in January triggering 41% of the total number of searches compared to 36% in December 2011.  With new calls from the CML and NAEA yesterday for the government to extend the stamp duty holiday and the home buying season fast approaching, the trend just may continue throughout 2012.

Do you think the 23 month high is due to a general increase in consumer demand or that first time buyers are rushing to get house purchases completed before the end of the stamp duty holiday?  What do we need to keep the FTB market active?  Share your opinions with us on LinkedIn.

Make sure you are getting the maximum number of enquiries by updating your unbiased.co.uk profile by adding information such as advice areas, qualifications and social media links.  This may make all the difference between a consumer choosing your advert over your closest competitor.
