‘Going into the election, we found that a third of voters said they might be swayed by the tax policies of the parties*. It could be that policies such as inheritance tax cuts did give the Conservatives the edge. After months of changes that have influenced people’s financial decisions, this result should deliver a more stable environment in which these choices can be made.
‘Our Tax Action 2015 report found that Britons are still wasting over £4.9 billion of available tax relief due to a lack of proper financial planning. Hopefully, the election of this government will encourage people to think more about their tax allowances. With plenty of economic uncertainty still remaining, consumers should continue to consult professional advisers in order to make the best long-term decisions.’
