Tax Action 2016

Goals’s widely renowned Tax Action campaign has been running for 22 years, educating consumers about the significant areas of tax waste across the UK population. In 2016, Prudential sponsored Tax Action alongside and ran research to help educate consumers about the amount of money they’re wasting every year by not taking advantage of tax relief.

This year's research has found that as much as £4.6 billion is wasted every year because of tax inefficiencies. The report also found:

  • £159: the average amount each individual taxpayer is set to waste
  • 57%: of people admit they haven’t done anything to reduce their tax waste in the past 12 months
  • 50%: amount of savers who think they are already paying as little tax as they should
  • £1 billion: The tax savings Brits have made by joining workplace pension schemes

The 2016 campaign featured research into four different areas of tax. Both a tax and ISA guide were produced to help consumers to understand tax, as well as a series of consumer facing blogs, LinkedIn discussions and newsletters which made up the face of the campaign. It was also heavily promoted across’s social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+.
